Smoked salmon tried to kill me

So, the amazing knives of the last post?  They're really REALLY sharp.

Note to self - don't try to pry frozen smoked salmon slices apart with a brand new knife, because it will slip and stab you in the palm, and you will have to phone your best friend to drive you to the hospital at 10 o'clock at night for stitches...  And then she will laugh at you.


(when labelling this post I found I already had all the labels I needed - accident, embarrassing, F Dick, funny, hospital, ouch, shame - which says a lot about my escapades, lol)

Too many zombies and too much wine? Surely not possible

When you are being harrassed for the buttons you promised for a button swap, what can you do but call out the big literary guns and invoke the Merchant of Venice to defend your honour??  However, dear friend B didn't get the reference and mucho text weirdness ensued (she started it with that alien emoticon, honest guv!).  Learn from this lesson, folks, and don't drunk text!

'A recipe for disaster' or 'How the great are fallen'

the kids have been taking roller skating lessons at St Clair's, in Woodville.  It's $3 for an hour-long group session on the rink with an instructor who gives you tips, helps you improve your technique, etc.  The kids love it, so I decided I could do this too - I skated many eons ago in my distant youth, with the skates you wore over your shoes - remember them??

They're pretty smart looking for weapons of wrist destruction!

I was really stoked to pick up this pretty pair of purple quads at the junk markets this week for ten bucks - awesome!  I thought I'd practise for a bit at home to get the feel of them.  And then suddenly - BANG!!!!!  I go arse over tit and land hard on the kitchen floor.  A trip to the Emergency Department later, I have a small fracture diagnosed and a lovely cast.  Must remember to wear pads next time!
